Stone
This product is applied a peculiar glaze to reflect both of flows glaze and clay as a pattern that appears under the process of glazing and molding.
The slight differences in the density of the glaze affect how transparent the red clay texture, and that is the features for this pattern that you can enjoy the natural fluctuation of stone. Incidentally, the areas where the glaze is applied thickly are white, and the thinner areas show the brown color of the red clay.
In addition, depending on how the fire hits the product in the kiln, the way glaze melts varies so that the appearance of the surface also changes up to each circumstance. These something like natural phenomenon cannot be controlled artificially, but that is the biggest appeal point for this pattern, so we would like you to enjoy these various individual differences as well.
Charcoal
The texture with this pattern is reminiscent of charcoal. By applying a slip blended with iron oxide to the entire surface of the product using sponge, an organic uneven appearance is expressed on the surface. To accentuate the texture of the surface, a thin layer of matte black glaze is applied to this product.
Water
The green color is expressed by the chemical reaction between the glossy glassy glaze that is transparent like water and the iron components in the red clay. The product is fired in a method called “reduction firing,” in which oxygen is removed and it is fired in an incomplete combustion state, taking advantage of the property of iron turning green.
“Reduction firing” is the main method to produce porcelain ware in the Hizen region which includes Hasami, Arita, and Imari, and it is unique to this production area.
The fine craze appears on the surface of this pattern, which gives it an appealingly delicate express. The appearance of craze has an individual difference one by one.

Since each piece is created by craftsmen’s hand using natural raw materials, there are individual differences. We appreciate your understanding in advance.
A sudden change in temperature might cause the product to crack, so when you are going to use the microwave to warm up the ingredients, food, or drink, return it to room temperature. Also, do not suddenly immerse the product in water while it is still hot.
A partial change in temperature might cause the product to crack, so use with care to avoid localized high temperatures.
Water
